- 2011 Miss Tall International® Talisha Tolliver 6′ 2″ Dark brown hair, brown eyes Talisha teaches high school math in Moreno Valley, California and is an assistant activities director at her school. She graduated from the University of California Riverside with a B.A. in Anthropology and received a M.A. in Curriculum and instruction from the University of Redlands. Talisha’s students recently voted her “Most likely to be on ‘Dancing with the Stars’.”
- 2010 Miss Tall International® Joy Lynn Dawson 6′ 2″ Dark brown hair, brown eyes Occupation: Spanish language interpreter for the Supreme Court of Virginia Lives in Manassas, VA Joy received a B.A. degree in Anthropology from Howard University. She is not only a civil wedding officiant, but has also accomplished a back-flip during a trapeze workshop. Miss Tall International® 2010 and would like to be involved in a motivational speaking tour to help young people harness what makes them unique and use it to their advantage. Joy Dawson will represent TCI as she travels to member clubs for publicity events and to promote tall awareness.
- 2009 Miss Tall International® Holli S. Jennings 6′ 4″ Red hair, green eyes Holli is an Assistant VP at Bank of America in Portland. Books, genealogy and world travel are among her favorite activities. She wants to continue meeting tall people with whom to share stories and fun tall experiences, and to develop friendships through shared commonalities during her travels. Her preferred vacation destination is Ireland, and her greatest accomplishment is having helped a man save his home after the 9/11 terrorist attack. “As Miss TI, my first priority will be publicity. I want to raise awareness of our Tall Clubs and promote membership. I think we have much to offer, but I believe that many people are not even aware that we exist. Sometimes, we need a bigger voice, and I’d like to help create that voice.” The Miss Tall International® Pageant was held in Las Vegas, NV in 2009.
- 2008 Miss Tall International® Billie Jean Morison 6′ 2″ Brown hair, brown eyes Billie Jean Morison of Citrus Heights has been selected to represent Tall Clubs International as Miss Tall International® 2008. At 6’2″ in height, Morison was selected from a field of eight contestants at TCI’s annual convention, held June 30 to July 6 in Long Beach. Ms. Morison’s involvement with TCI began in the late 1970′s, when she joined the San Diego Tall Singles. She participated in the 2008 international pageant as Miss Tall San Francisco, having joined the San Francisco Tip Toppers in 1992. The new Miss Tall International® currently enjoys dual membership in the Tip Toppers and Sacramento Tall Club. Morison’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Technology from the University of San Francisco, and a Masters of Social Work from California State University Sacramento. She is currently employed in the Sacramento area as a medical social worker, providing home health care for HIV/AIDS patients. An avid walker, Ms. Morison often participates in walk-a-thons to benefit medical charities. Her personal goals and aspirations include becoming a hospice social worker, and owning her home outright. Being easily remembered by others is both an advantage and disadvantage of having notable height, from Morison’s point of view. A major advantage, besides the ability to quickly scan a crowd, is the opportunity to make friends and try new activities through affiliation with a tall club. As a tall person, Morison has found it challenging to find affordable clothes, shoes, and an accommodating car that gets good gas mileage. When asked why she would like to be Miss Tall International®, Morison stated that it “…would give me the opportunity to spread the word to celebrate being tall and to encourage all of us in Tall Clubs to celebrate each other and the unique gifts each of us brings to our tall family.” Throughout her year as Miss Tall International®, Morison will be invited to weekend events sponsored by affiliated clubs. Her presence will help the clubs generate publicity to raise local awareness of their activities and purpose. Plans are under way for Morison to participate in a camping weekend sponsored by the Redwood Empire Tall Club, an October invitational weekend sponsored by the Boston Beanstalks, and a November event sponsored by San Jose’s Tall Club of Silicon Valley.
- 2007 Miss Tall International® Jane Baldwin 6′ 2″ Auburn hair, blue eyes Jane is from Aloha, Oregon, where she works as an elementary school teacher. She has a B.A. in elementary education from Lewis-Clark State College and an M.S. in elementary reading and literacy from Walden University. The Miss Tall International® Pageant was held in Portland, OR in 2007.
- 2006 Miss Tall International® Annette M. Chionilos 6′ 0½ ” Annette M. Chionilos is from Woodbury, CT and is a high school math teacher at Newtown High School. She holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Mathematics. Annette has strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes. Hobbies and interests: She likes to hike, bike, run, read, dance, go to the theater, do crossword puzzles, birdwatch, travel, spend time with family and friends, and laugh! When asked what the tall club has meant to her, Annette says, “Belonging to Tall Clubs International has changed me and changed my attitude toward life. As a result of spending time with men and women of similar proportions and stature, I have learned to truly accept myself as I am, and more importantly, that ‘the feminine ideal’ is unbounded by height, weight and physical appearance.” The Miss Tall International® Pageant was held in Orlando, FL in 2006.
- 2005 Miss Tall International® Lisa L. Lightner 5′ 11″ Lisa has blonde hair and hazel eyes. She was born in Hinton, WV and her occupation is Special Education Teacher. Favorites: Color, red; flower, daisy; music, all kinds; movie, “Steel Magnolias;” cartoon character, Scooby-Doo; snack food, movie theater buttered popcorn, Junior Mints and Pepsi; vacation destination, any tropical island or Greece; holiday, Hallowe’en; sounds, waves hitting the shore and thunderstorms; aromas, tropical and ocean smells, and things from a bakery. Strengths: Outgoing, friendly, caring and positive. Hobbies: Scuba diving, the performing arts, creative crafts, all types of dancing, riding a Harley, traveling/sightseeing, inline skating, running/working out, Orioles baseball, Marshall U. football. Why Lisa would like to be Miss TI: “I would treasure the honor for many reasons. This opportunity would allow me to meet newcomers, while supporting and getting to know the established members. The prospect of being an ambassador for TCI would allow me to promote our wonderful society with gusto and enthusiasm.” Lisa was selected as the 2005 Miss Tall International®. She is the first queen from the Baltimore Tall Club to serve as Miss Tall International®.
- 2004 Miss Tall International® Nancy Lynn Jacoby 5′ 11″ Nancy Lynn Jacoby is a 5’11″ hazel-eyed, dark brown haired New York native who now resides in Bradenton, FL. She is a graduate of Skidmore College with B.S. degree in Studio Art. Currently employed as Office Manager and Executive Assistant for the Sarasota County Arts Council. Nancy enjoys all forms of performing and visual arts, photography and many sports. She is an avid tennis player. She loves to travel and experience foods and cultures different from her own. As Miss Tall International®, Nancy intends to act as an advocate, a spokesperson, and a champion when it comes to recognizing special needs for individuals of taller than average stature. Experiences over the last 18 years with Tall Clubs International (TCI) has helped Nancy to grow as a person, find the confidence within herself to become a leader, a public personality, and someone that would make her family and friends proud. She currently is a member of the Sarasota Tall Sunsations, is the Chairman of the TCI Foundation and a member of the Finance Board of the TCI Treasurer Club. The Miss Tall International® Pageant was held in Niagara Falls, Canada in 2004. Nancy was selected as the twenty-third Kae Sumner Einfeldt TCI Lifetime Achievement recipient in 1998.
- 2003 Miss Tall International® Joan Jacobs 5′ 11″ Blue eyes, blonde hair Joan grew up in St. Louis Missouri, graduated from John Burroughs School in 1973, received a BS in Industrial Management from Purdue University (W. Lafayette, IN) 1977, and an MBA from Pepperdine University (Los Angeles, CA) 1982. Joan is the mother of three tall teenagers: Jimmy, age 17, 6’2” and 15 year-old twins Adrianne, 6’1″ and Andrew, 6’0”. Joan is an avid traveler for both business and pleasure, and loves to explore exotic parts of the globe. Joan has visited 48 of the 50 United States, six of the seven continents, and still has a list of things she’d like to accomplish, i.e., an archaeological dig, sky-diving, going to the Cannes Film Festival and diving in a shark cage. Her philosophy is “live life to the fullest”, which she is doing. She loves snorkeling, water-skiing, swimming, tennis, canoeing, camping, snow skiing, exploring off the beaten path locations, meeting local people, eating local food, seeing live music performances, spending time with her friends, dancing and going to the theatre, concerts, any type of sporting event and her all time passion: Travel! In the summer, you will find her behind the wheel of her MasterCraft pulling water-skiers all day long. Joan currently works for the Hewlett Packard Corporation as a Solutions Marketing Manager responsible for the SAP relationship. Previously, she held positions as Alliance Director for the Commerce One and Netscape Global Alliances for Compaq Computer Corporation. Earlier in her career, Joan served as Managing Director for the Technology Executive Roundtable Program which provided a forum for over 3000 CEOs and COOs of technology-related companies to meet on a monthly basis in seven cities in the U.S. and the Internet Innovators Program, a global program for Internet technology companies. While working for Digital Computer Corporation, she led a team of engineers in Galway, Ireland to bring on-line one of the first Internet-based electronic stores for the sale and distribution of software. She has been featured in articles on entrepreneurship in USA Today, The Wall Street Journal and ABC TV’s Business World, and has been on the Board of Directors of three Internet-based technology companies. Joan is a founding member of West Best, a School Trust chartered with establishing an endowment fund to support teacher-sponsored activities for academic excellence, and over a two-year period, the Trust raised over $100K. West Boylston School Board awarded Citizen of the Year to Joan. Joan served as District Governor in the Northeast for Alpha Phi sorority for three years, responsible for advising and guiding local chapters at Boston University, Bentley College, UNH and Univ. of Maine. She was an active member of Junior League of Worcester, and has participated in several community theatre productions to raise money on behalf of disadvantaged children. All three of Joan’s children had roles in the touring company of the Nutcracker Ballet for four years, and Joan worked as a backstage volunteer. Joan’s height is given as 6′ in the 2003 Pageant Booklet. Joan was also named Miss Congeniality in the 2003 Miss TI Pageant.
- 2002 Miss Tall International® Kristen A. Carlson 5′ 11″ Kristen Audra Carlson is a green-eyed, blonde-haired Massachusetts native. She is employed as a Payroll & Benefits Manager for The Robert Allen Group headquartered in Mansfield, Massachusetts. Kristen enjoys horseback riding, sign language, photography, camping, reading and traveling. Over the past several years, Kristen has been taking classes in American Sign Language and working with a close friend to improve on the language. She hopes to be able to utilize ASL in the near future to communicate better with the deaf community. Kristen loves to serve her community. She has enjoyed volunteering with her local club, The Boston Beanstalks, as social chair, and has organized and participated in numerous fundraisers in her community including Toys for Tots, Disaster Relief efforts for numerous organizations and individuals, food drives and various walk-a-thons. When asked about her vision as Miss Tall International®, she replied, “I am enjoying the many new experiences of being Miss TI and representing TCI and its members. It is amazing how many tall people there are out there that have experienced the same highs and lows that I have experienced as a tall person. I would like to be able to take all of these experiences and share them with the tall community. In particular, I look forward to encouraging teenagers to stand tall and proud and would love the opportunity to meet the tall teens across the U.S. I am ecstatic about my future travels, the places I will see and the people I will meet. I love meeting and talking with people from all over and wouldn’t hesitate to approach that shy person and strike up a conversation with him/her. Sometimes it just takes a minute and the right words to bring someone closer in the group or become part of the group!” The Miss Tall International® Pageant was held in Sacramento, CA in 2002.
- 2001 Miss Tall International® Amy L. Storm 5′ 10″ Amy is a 6’0” Dallas native with brown hair and blue eyes. She is currently a Retirement Administrator for the Annuity Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. Amy is the mother of a seven-year-old daughter, Victoria. Amy enjoys spending time with her daughter, reading stories to children and addressing self-esteem issues. She also enjoys Greek food, Dr. Pepper, traveling and participating in the Race for the Cure every year. When asked about her plans as Miss Tall International®, Amy stated, “At age 25, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I went through chemotherapy and lost my hair, my pride and my self-esteem. I was worried about what people thought of me. I felt so unattractive, awkward, abnormal and different. Becoming a member of Tall Clubs International has helped me to regain my self-confidence. As Miss Tall International®, I would like to continue reaching out to teens and children across the United States. I want them to understand that being different is okay. Being different isn’t just a ‘tall thing.’ They may be overweight, wear glasses, have braces, or might even be short. Regardless of their difference, I want them to know that they are perfectly made.” Amy was official crowned Miss Tall International® on September 2, 2001. She replaced Karen Harper who resigned shortly after the 2001 TCI convention in Portland, ME.
- 2000 Miss Tall International® Jerelynn Reams Shields 6′ 0″ A native of Colorado, the 6′ hazel-eyed brunette studied in Oregon and Washington. Jere is a dental hygienist by profession. She is the mother of two children, 19 year old Laura (6’3″) and 23 year old Michael (6’5″). Jere has been a member of the Timberline Club of Denver for about 5 years. The platform Jere has chosen to support during her reign is Tallrific Teens. She states that she would like teens to know there is “a great group of supportive tall folks out there!” Jere enjoys fresh air and sunshine, taking walks, swimming and going on hikes. She also enjoys making pottery, dancing and traveling. Other favorites include chocolate, live performances of the arts, movies, wine, roses and carnations. When asked what the tall club has meant to her, Jere replied, “The Tall Club has provided a place for me to go to meet others who share the similar feelings and experiences. Since joining the club I have made many wonderful friends and have had the opportunity to date men who are comfortable with my height. I love to dance and the dances I attended I actually get to ‘dance the night away!’”
- 1999 Miss Tall International® Janet Rosemary Hughes 5′ 10½ ” Miss Tall Houston, Janet Rosemary Hughes represents the Towering Texans of Houston. She currently works for a mortgage company as an Executive Assistant and Special Projects Manager. A trained wildlife rehabilitator, Janet is a 10-year volunteer teacher with the Houston Zoo, specializing in falconry and primates, where she was recently a surrogate mother for a baby Orangutan. Janet is five feet ten and one-half inches tall with light brown hair and brown eyes. Her friends describe her gregarious, sunny and compassionate. Janet lists some of her favorite things as the snooze button on her alarm clock, strong coffee, snorkeling, time with her friends, watching a sunset on the beach, funny movies, a child’s laughter, hearing her cats purr and the Houston Rockets. Janet aspires to do voice-over work in commercials and audio books. She would also like to write a funny book about her various animal adventures and to make a difference, no matter how small, in preserving and nurturing the diverse wildlife we share with the Earth. When asked what the tall club has meant to her, Janet wrote: “Immediate warmth and acceptance! Serving on the Scholarship Committee was a very rewarding experience and I learned about being tall on the inside from one of the children. I had my first experience standing in the front row for a group photo – a strange feeling!”
- 1998 Miss Tall International® Suzanne Stavast 6′ 0″ Miss California Tip Topper, Suzanne Stavast has blonde hair and brown eyes and is described by her friends as happy, crazy and independent. Suzanne manages a driving school to teach people to drive in LA! She also freelances some small business public relations, mainly desktop publishing. Her goal is to move into freelancing full-time as it incorporates all the things she loves to do: writing, photography, computer manipulation. To relax, Suzanne loves to go to the beach, smell the ocean, listen to the sound of the surf, feel the sun warming her skin, and the sand in her toes. She enjoys cheesecake, laughing, dumb jokes, dancing with very tall men, singing in the shower, waking up without the alarm, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, romantic comedies, swing dancing, candles and applesauce. When asked what the tall club has meant to her, Suzanne wrote: “The tall club is a great place to hang out with people who share the same delights and difficulties of being tall. I LOVE walking into a function, and looking UP to all the friendly faces! Through the tall club, I have found the answers to many of the ‘disadvantages’ of being tall, lots and lots of tall dance partners, and a network of women to talk to with similar clothing difficulties.”
- 1997 Miss Tall International® Rissa Marie Dodson 6′ 1¾ ” Rissa Marie Dodson is a native Californian, born in San Pedro and raised in Riverside. She’s been an active member of the California Tip Toppers for the past eighteen months. She has black hair, brown eyes and stands 6’1-3/4″. Rissa Marie was a Deaf Studies Major at California State University, and a member of the Alpha Sigma Theta sorority, where sign language was the main method of communication. She currently is a sign language interpreter for Los Angeles Unified School District. An active member of the California Tip Toppers Club, Rissa Marie was elected to the CTTC Board of Directors in 1996 and currently serves as Social Chairperson in addition to serving as Co-Membership Chair. Rissa Marie loves to play volleyball, to watch Dodgers and Lakers games, cooking, shopping and going to the theatre. Her appreciation for the arts has been greatly influenced by her mom, an opera singer, and her dad, who plays jazz piano. Rissa Marie would like to be Miss Tall International® to have the opportunity to meet the people that keep TCI and all other clubs thriving. “It’s exciting and would be quite an honor to represent a club that gives so much and means so much to so many people.” The Miss Tall International® Pageant was held in Clearwater Beach, FL in 1997.
- 1996 Miss Tall International® Norma Forrest 6′ 1″ Blonde hair, blue-green eyes Occupation: Urban planner Hobbies and interests: Norma has served on the Toronto Towers Executive Board as Membership and Publicity Chairperson, member of the negotiating team that merged the two Toronto clubs and served as the first President of the newly created club. She is now responsible for Publicity for the Tall Club of Toronto. She enjoys ceramics, acting, cooking (and eating), reading mystery novels, hiking, traveling, listening to good blues and tall club weekends. She enjoys the ability to see and be seen in a crowd, to take life in big strides — not baby steps — and having an easy opening line for people who want to meet her. As Miss Tall International®, Norma would like to give something back to the organization that has contributed so much to her life. The Miss Tall International® Pageant was held in Catskills, NY in 1996.
- 1995 Miss Tall International® Kira Anthofer 6′ 4″ Blonde hair, blue eyes Occupation: Marketing and public relations director for a national restaurant chain Kira has served as Secretary, Social Chairperson and Vice President of the California Central Coast Tall Club. Her hobbies include hiking, traveling, dancing and team sports. Kira played professional basketball in Luxembourg City and has coached girls’ basketball. She currently serves as president of Helping Hand, a not-for-profit organization to assist youths in need-based situations. Kira would like to be Miss Tall International® to encourage young tall people to recognize the special gifts that they possess.
- 1994 Miss Tall International® Carol L. Hudson 6′ 0½ ” Brown hair, green eyes Occupation: CPA and owner of an accounting and tax practice Hobbies and interests: Carol has served the Towering Texans of Houston as Treasurer for two years. She was Treasurer and Registration Chair for the 1992 TCI Convention. The Towering Texans have honored her with nominations for TCI Woman of the Year and for Merit Awards. Professionally, she served as the first female president of the Petroleum Accountants Society of Houston and is active in a number of accounting-related professional groups. She is a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo where she served as rodeo committee volunteer for the past two years. Carol enjoys sewing, cooking, herb gardening, dancing, snow skiing and has recently taken up scuba diving. As Miss Tall International®, Carol plans to be an even more visible advocate of Tall Awareness and Fellowship. The Miss Tall International® Pageant was held in Denver, CO in 1994. Carol became the twenty-first recipient of the Kae Sumner Einfeldt TCI Lifetime Achievement award (former Woman of the Year award) in 1999. She began serving as the TCI Registered Agent (in the state of Texas) in 2000.
- 1993 Miss Tall International® Jill Viglione 6′ 2″ Blonde hair, blue eyes Occupation: Senior Draftsperson at a civil engineering firm Jill, Miss Tall San Francisco, has been active as GGTC Hotline Chairperson, pageant program designer for club and TCI, initiated and chaired GGTT’s “Kae Sumner Einfeldt Scholarship Award,” Pageant Director, Newsletter Co-Editor, Photo Editor, Sergeant at Arms, and committee chairperson. Jill enjoys cooking, rollerblading, swing dancing, antiques, gardening and ocean walks. Jill would like to be Miss Tall International® to promote the “Kae Sumner Einfeldt Scholarship Award” to ensure that a large number of students receive the scholarship. She aspires to provide tall youths with the same support and camaraderie that she has experienced in TCI. Jill was crowned Miss Tall International® at the 1993 pageant.
- 1992 Miss Tall International® Jan Bielefeldt 5′ 11¾ ” Strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes Occupation: Technical analyst Hobbies and interests: Jan has served her club as weekend decorations chairperson. She is actively involved with the Dallas Area Tall Teens and enjoys playing tennis, scuba diving, traveling and working with crafts. She aspires to learn more, to work on improving herself, to travel more, to scuba dive and to enjoy life as much as possible. Her height gives her more of a professional appearance at work, gets her noticed, serves as a great conversation starter and has brought her many new friends. The only disadvantage her height has brought her — besides short men and one-size-fits-all clothing — is that she has a lot further to fall whenever she is skating or skiing. As Miss Tall International®, Jan plans to encourage friendship between TCI clubs, to develop more pride within each club and to share the advantages of being tall with everyone.
- 1991 Miss Tall International® Rose Carnduff 5′ 11″ Rose, a sales representative, has brown hair and brown eyes. She enjoys all aspects of community theatre: directing, choreography and performing, as well as sports and travel. Rose would like to become Miss Tall International® because the confidence and self-assurance the Tall Clubs have given her should be shared by all tall people, and representing TCI would be the chance of a lifetime. She was the seventeenth Miss Tall International and was also chosen as Miss Congeniality. Rose married William (Bill) Archibald May 9, 1998.
- 1990 Miss Tall International® Roberta Holler 6′ 1½ ” Brunette hair, green eyes Occupation: Production Manager, Medical Video Productions Hobbies and interests: Music, Beatles collectibles, SCUBA diving at Lake of the Ozarks and the Florida Keys, and my pet cat, Delaney. Advantages height has brought you: My height gives me the factor of immediate recognition. Perhaps psychologically, people will perceive someone who is taller than average as somewhat superior in experience, intelligence and control. I have no problem gaining the respect and authority needed for a producer during a video shoot. ————– Roberta was 1st runner up in the 1990 Miss TI Pageant. She then served as Miss TI from November 1990 through July 1991, and married fellow St. Louis Tip Topper Michael Mueller at the 1991 TCI Convention in San Francisco.

- 1988 Miss Tall International® Susan LaPierre 6′ 0″ 6′ tall, brown hair, green eyes Occupation: High school teacher of French and Spanish Club Involvement: Co-chairperson for entertainment committee Interests: Organizing and chaperoning student tours to France; gourmet cooking, tennis, walking, biking, swimming and weight training Tall Advantages: “I am easily recognized and remembered. As a teenager, I believe adults were more willing to trust me. As an adult and teacher, I find others believe in my enthusiasm, motivation and authority more readily.”
- 1987 Miss Tall International® Doreen Elizabeth Christian 5′ 10″ Doreen is a custom tailor. Her hobbies and interests include ice skating, dancing and crossword puzzles. She aspires to be more friendly and understanding of other people’s problems and to also return to modeling. Doreen has been involved with TCI for 13 years and have many funny and fantastic memories. Being an officer and participating in tall events changes lives; it changed her life for the better. It’s not how tall you are, but how you think about yourself that counts. She would like to share some of that with her many tall friends across America. Doreen became the fourteenth Miss Tall International®. There were seventeen participants in the 1987 pagent.
- 1986 Miss Tall International® Rochelle Yuga 6′ 0″ Education: Fashion merchandising major Occupation: Office manager Aspirations: I aspire to do something special with the gift I have — being a positive people person. I would also like to be remembered as happy, fun and free-spirited. I would like the crown of Miss Tall International® so I could impress upon fellow talls that it truly is a great gift to be tall, so be proud! Also, I feel it is quite important to work with young people because most of the bad experiences people have with their height come in their younger years. We all need to “heighten” our self-image! I’m the person to help!
- 1985 Miss Tall International® Trish Burda 6′ 3″ Education: University of Iowa, Computer Science major Occupation: Manager, Information Systems Aspirations: To travel around the world My reason for wanting to be Miss TI: I’d like to contribute to the image of tall people throughout the country, to encourage others to stand tall and be proud of who they are. Trish was the tallest participant in the pageant. There were nineteen participants in this pageant.
- 1984 Miss Tall International® Anna Mary Rowan 6′ 2″ Education: BS, Miami University Occupation: Administrative Assistant Aspirations: To enter the International Relations Division of SYNTEX My reason for wanting to be Miss TI: To encourage other tall individuals to appreciate themselves for who they are and to view their height as a very positive asset.
- 1983 Miss Tall International® Cynthia Lou Smith 5′ 10″ Cynthia is an artist who also loves to sew and design clothes, and lifts weights and jogs in her spare time. This active lady won a statewide art competition recently, and works as the composition supervisor of a printing company. She feels that her height has helped her develop self assurance, but has difficulty finding “nice clothes that are long enough, nice shoes that are big enough, and nice men that are tall enough.” Cynthia was the tenth Miss Tall International®.
- 1982 Miss Tall International® Susan Leigh Kennedy 5′ 10½ ” At the University of Alabama Susan majored in French and Spanish. Since graduation she has been active with Sorority and College alumni groups and the American Association of University Women. Currently employed as an Administrator for a stock brokerage firm, Susan hopes to orchestrate her studies in dance and the personnel field into a profitable business. Susan views the Miss TI crown as a responsibility and a challenge. Susan was the ninth Miss Tall International®. There were nineteen participants in the 1982 Miss Tall International® pageant. She married James “Jim” West on September 5, 1987.
- 1981 Miss Tall International® Patricia Meier 6′ 0″ Black hair with hazel eyes Occupation: Owner Pat Meier and Associates – public relations Interests: Dancing, cooking, gardening, hiking, singing, bicycling, helping and working with people. Aspirations: To be one of the most highly respected and capable public relations agents in the nation. Patricia was the eighth Miss Tall International®. There were seventeen participants in the 1981 Miss Tall International® pageant.
- 1980 Miss Tall International® Kathy June Hindman 6′ 2″ Blonde hair, blue eyes Occupation: Assistant manager Interests: Basketball, racquetball, biking and people in general. Aspirations: I would like to be a personnel director. Kathy was the seventh Miss Tall International®. There were twenty participants in the 1980 Miss Tall International® pageant.
- 1979 Miss Tall International® Carol Glasgow 5′ 11″ Carol has hazel eyes and light brown hair. Her hobbies are skiing, dancing, the theatre, designing and sewing. Carol was the sixth Miss Tall International®. There were nineteen participants in the 1979 pageant. Carol later married a Mr. Morrin.
- 1978 Miss Tall International® Roxanne Pasquarella 5′ 11″ Roxanne (Rocky) has brown hair and brown eyes. She is a student and dance teacher. Her interests include horseback riding, jogging, reading, dancing, tennis, bowling and rug hooking. If selected Miss Tall International®, she would promote tall awareness throughout the country and demonstrate the fun of being tall. She is proud to be tall and says it has no disadvantages at all. Roxanne (Rocky) was the fifth Miss Tall International®. There were sixteen pageant participants.
- 1977 Miss Tall International® Jeanne Connell 5′ 11½ ” Blonde hair, blue eyes Occupation: Computer programmer for a major airline Hobbies and interests: Jeannie is active in horseback riding, flying, skiing, scuba diving and loves “fun in the sun.” She aspires to continue her career and obtain a private pilot’s license. She maintains that being tall has strengthened her sense of individuality. If chosen Miss Tall International®, Jeannie would promote tall awareness to people of all ages. Jeannie was the fourth Miss Tall International®. There were seventeen participants in the 1977 pageant. Jeannie married Carl Smith by December 1979.
- 1976 Miss Tall International® Antoinette Mals 5′ 11½ ” Brown hair, brown eyes Occupation: Nurse’s aide and part-time student who hopes to become a nursing instructor and eventually a housewife and mother. Hobbies: Born under the sign of Libra, Toni enjoys drawing, gourmet cooking, and collecting antiques. Toni was the third Miss Tall International®. There were sixteen participants in the 1976 pageant. She married Richard Sheffield in November 1978.
- 1975 Miss Tall International® Leslie Valstad 6′ 0″ Leslie was the second Miss Tall International. Leslie is a member of the San Francisco Junior Chamber of Commerce and lists tennis, sewing and music as her hobbies. There were fifteen participants in the 1975 pageant.
- 1974 Miss Tall International® Gail Frantz 5′ 11″ Gail was the first Miss Tall International®. There were seventeen participants in the 1974 pageant. She later married (1) Mr. Wagner and (2) Mr. Edgerton.
- 1972 Miss Tall International® Tara Sheldon 6′ 4″ Tara, a green eyed brunette, holds a B.S. degree and taught Physical Education for three years. She has represented the U.S.A. in the Pan American Games and the British Commonwealth Games and was an alternate for the U.S. in the 1968 Olympic Games. Currently she is seeking employment in the fashion industry. She hopes to pursue a career in professional modeling and eventually marry, raise a family and open a Tall Gals’ Boutique. Tara was the sixth Miss Tall Universe. She later married Roger Wayland in 1977.
- 1971 Miss Tall International® Elaine McLendon 5′ 11½ ” Occupation: Presently a student graduating in August 1971 from North Texas State University with a B.A. in journalism, minor in English education. Hobbies: Singing and guitar playing, painting and wood crafts. Elaine was crowned Miss Tall Universe in the 1971 affiliation pageant. No additional information found in the TCI Archives.
- 1970 Miss Tall International® Pamela Bissinger 6′ 0″ She was born in Hollywood, moved to Saudi Arabia as a child, then returned to San Fernando Valley where she attended high school. As for hobbies she rates horses highest on her list. She is an excellent rider and has even done some rodeo stunt riding for pleasure. Flying also gives her a thrill. Though she doesn’t fly herself she is interested in learning and likes people who can fly. Pamela was crowned Miss Tall Universe at the 1970 affiliation pageant. There were twenty or twenty-one participants in the affiliation’s pageant.
- 1967 Miss Tall International® Sherry Youmans 6′ 1″ Sherry became the first Miss Tall Universe and received her crown from her double predecessor, Adria Easton. There were twenty-three participants in the 1967 pageant. Sherry later married a Mr. Williams.
- 1966 Miss Tall International® Adria Easton 5′ 11″ Adria was crowned Miss Tall North America in 1966. She later married David Colver. There were seventeen participants in the 1966 pageant.
- 1965 Miss Tall International® Suzanne Baughman 6′ 0″ Suzanne became the first Miss Tall North America. She later married a Mr. Eastgate. There were eighteen participants in the 1965 pageant.
