Dave Rasmussen at 223cm(7'3") has been TCI's tallest member for 11 years. He's stepped forward as being a key member of the Tall Club of Milwaukee and held many offices over the years, currently serving as the club president and newsletter editor.    A magnet for publicity no matter where he goes, Dave has appeared in newspapers along with other local members or Miss TI during many Weekends in cities across TCI. He has also been active in and featured by the National Marfan Foundation on their 2004 convention flyer. As an amateur violinist Dave and Ron Hutchison on piano have volunteered to play chamber music before many TCI and NMF events as a means of fund raising for the TCI Foundation and NMF.

Dave also was featured in a documentary produced in 1998 entitled In Search of Being Tall, which airs on cable's The Learning Channel (TLC) from time to time.    Dave works as a computer systems administrator at the University of Wisconsin ­ Milwaukee where he enjoys helping people as one of the full time staff advising the student-run helpdesk. Dave is a cancer survivor and runs a screen saver on his computers which when idle, run computational chemistry for cancer drug analyses and other beneficial projects (see grid.org if interested in joining).    In his spare time Dave likes to travel (including TCI Weekends) and spend time at his family’s cottage in Northern Wisconsin, brother Jim’s farm or other friends with his standard poodle Shoppidoc. He grows an organic garden and enjoys cooking from it. Volleyball, swimming and riding his recumbent bike in fund raising rides and parades for publicity keep him in shape. Still pondering sharing life with someone else, he chuckles if only Star Trek transporter beams were more common place, he could more easily and frequently see some of the special people that have touched his life.
